Got an invite for Ubuntu One, Ubuntu's cloud storage solution. 2GB plan is free and for 10GB it costs 10$ per month!!!
- Installation itself is not smooth. It launches the browser at the end of install and expects us click on a button to authorise the PC. Bit annoying.
- Works in a similar fashion like Drop Box. There is a icon in the tray and a separate folder named "Ubuntu One" in the home folder, which synchronises with the cloud:
- Web interface needs improvement. It doesn't even gives a preview of photos that is synced.
At present, I don't find any reason for anyone to go for Ubuntu One rather than Drop Box.
Ubuntu 9.10 karmic Koala comes with Ubuntu One by default and tightly integrated.
